Causeway Bay Hong Kong shopping district - vibrant street scene with shoppers, neon signs, and modern buildings

Causeway Bay Events - April 2027

April is a transition month in Causeway Bay. The frenetic Art March is over, the weather has turned properly warm and humid (roughly 22–27°C) and the first heavy showers of spring arrive. That makes it a good month for the indoor side of the district — the malls, the coffee shops, the harbourfront on a clear evening — while the one big fixture on the calendar is rugby.

If you are in town for the Hong Kong Sevens, plan accommodation early: the tournament fills hotels across the harbour and Kai Tak is a short ride from Causeway Bay.

Hong Kong Sevens 2027

📅 Friday, April 9 – Sunday, April 11, 2027

The world's best-known rugby sevens weekend returns to Kai Tak Stadium for three days of fast, loud, fancy-dressed sport. It is ticketed and the finals day sells out well in advance; even if you only go for one session, it is Hong Kong's most sociable sporting event and worth building a trip around.

📍 Location: Kai Tak Stadium

🎟️ Tickets: Ticketed — book through the Hong Kong Sevens site

🧭 Practical Notes

Sevens weekend

Hotels in Causeway Bay and around the harbour book out for the Sevens. Reach Kai Tak on the Tuen Ma Line; the stadium's own transport guidance is the best source for gate times and the last train.

Spring showers

April brings the first proper rain of the year. Carry an umbrella, and keep a wet-afternoon plan — the malls (Times Square, SOGO, Hysan Place) are all directly connected to the MTR.

No fixed-date events yet announced

Beyond the Sevens and Ching Ming, Hong Kong's April one-off concerts and exhibitions are usually announced only a few weeks ahead. Check the HKTB and venue listings nearer your dates rather than assuming April is empty.

FOOD AND DINING

While often visited for the Shopping the visitor should not forget that Causeway Bay encompasses a wide range of dining options, from the casual to the sophisticated. Within area are examples of many of Hong Kong's most authentic and distinctive styles, as well as international choices to fit all palates and budgets.
