Street Snacks and other foods
Eating and Shopping might be the main attractions of
Causeway Bay but that doesn't just mean fine dining or
funky restaurants, no the Chinese people love to eat as
they walk and shop so there is a great range of street
snacks from small shops and stalls around the district.
From Swedish meatballs at the IKEA Bistro under Park
Lane Hotel, through to the Ying Heong Yuen Chinese snack
shop on Cannon street there is a wide range for every
taste and budget.
It's possible to buy, walk, eat snacks all day and
never have a full meal or sit down but also never by
hungry in Causeway Bay!
In historical times there were street vendors pushing
carts selling food but for safety and health reasons of
course this is no more, but the identical styles of food
are not served instead from small shop fronts, sometimes
with a little seating inside for those who want to rest
their feet but also commonly with no seating at all as
all food is taken away.
Very occasionally though you will find an old-style
street vendor, who in this case is selling types of
baked potatoes, both ordinary and sweet, as well as
roasted quail eggs. All these are popular winter
snacks and very warming to eat.
