Causeway Bay Events - October 2027

October is the turning point of the Hong Kong year: the heat finally breaks, humidity falls, and the city gets the best outdoor weather it will see until spring. Causeway Bay's calendar follows suit, with two public holidays — National Day on 1 October and Chung Yeung on 8 October — opening the month, and the food-and-drink season arriving at the end of it.

One honesty note: both the National Day fireworks and the Wine & Dine Festival are annual fixtures whose 2027 details have not been officially published yet. We give the usual windows and say so.

🎉 Public Holidays & Fireworks

The firework display is an annual fixture but the 2027 programme has not been officially confirmed, so treat the evening as expected rather than settled and check the HKTB listings nearer the time.

🧭 Practical Notes

Fireworks viewing

If the 1 October display goes ahead, the Wan Chai and Causeway Bay waterfronts are the closest free vantage points to the district. Arrive an hour or two early, and expect heavy crowds on the harbourfront and in harbour-view restaurants.

Two long weekends

With holidays on 1 and 8 October, it is worth booking accommodation and long-haul travel early if your trip spans the first fortnight — this is one of the busiest travel windows of the Hong Kong autumn.

Best month for the outdoors

Cooler, drier weather returns. This is the month to make the most of Victoria Park and the harbourfront before the festive-season crowds arrive.

FOOD AND DINING

While often visited for the Shopping the visitor should not forget that Causeway Bay encompasses a wide range of dining options, from the casual to the sophisticated. Within area are examples of many of Hong Kong's most authentic and distinctive styles, as well as international choices to fit all palates and budgets.
