Causeway Bay Hong Kong shopping district - vibrant street scene with shoppers, neon signs, and modern buildings

Causeway Bay Events - December 2027

December is Causeway Bay at its most festive and its most crowded. The weather is cool and dry (roughly 15–20°C), the Christmas lights are fully up, and the shopping district — the reason most people come here — is at its busiest of the year. Two public holidays, Christmas Day and the first weekday after it, anchor the month.

The month closes with New Year's Eve, and it opens with the tail of the city's outdoor music season. Two of the three items below are annual fixtures whose 2027 details are not yet published; we give the usual pattern and say so clearly.

🎄 Public Holidays

Christmas Day

🧭 Practical Notes

Book everything early

December is the busiest month of the year for hotels, restaurants and flights in Hong Kong. If you are coming for Christmas or New Year, book accommodation and any festive dining weeks rather than days ahead.

New Year's Eve crowds

The harbourfront and the malls fill steadily from the evening of 31 December. The MTR usually runs extended service, but expect queues; leave plenty of time and agree a meeting point in advance.

Weather

Cool, dry and clear — the most reliable outdoor weather of the year. A light jacket covers most evenings.

FOOD AND DINING

While often visited for the Shopping the visitor should not forget that Causeway Bay encompasses a wide range of dining options, from the casual to the sophisticated. Within area are examples of many of Hong Kong's most authentic and distinctive styles, as well as international choices to fit all palates and budgets.
